Bathymetric Survey Capabilities

Multibeam Bathymetry
Bathymetric surveys require systems that deliver accurate, meaningful, and high-resolution results. Unlike single-beam profiles that leave gaps between lines, our multibeam systems sweep the riverbed in wide swaths, capturing millions of data points to generate a continuous, photorealistic 3D model of the channel floor.
Hazard Detection
Subtle physical processes can often spell large changes in risk. We identify active channel bed scour, migrating sand dunes, and submerged debris fields that create stress points, allowing you to address threats before they impact pipeline integrity.

Asset Verification
We integrate SONAR-collected channel elevation data directly with your pipeline’s geospatial location. This allows us to verify depth of cover compliance and identify potential exposures in real-time, providing immediate, actionable data for your integrity management teams.

Mitigation Integrity
Whether armoring is newly installed or decades old, inspections are critical. Our data resolves distinct features—like concrete matting or riprap—to verify placement and ensure that your hazard mitigation techniques remain effective, stable, and completely intact.

Interactive Digital Survey Inspection
To use the model:
- 360° Inspection:
- Rotate: Left-click and drag your mouse left or right to spin the model around the center point.
- Pan: Right-click and drag to move the camera laterally across the channel.
- Zoom: Scroll with your mouse wheel to inspect features closer.
- Actionable Integrity Data:
- Hazards: Use the “Show Hazards” toggle to overlay identified potential threats and scour risks.
- Pipelines: Toggle “Show Pipelines” to visualize the exact spatial relationship between the asset and the dynamic terrain.
- Dual-Mode Analysis:
- Side Scan View: High-contrast acoustic imagery that reveals bed composition, debris, and surface textures.
- Topographic View: Elevation-based terrain modeling that quantifies depth, channel morphology, and slope gradients.

Single-beam bathymetry

Bridging the “non-wadable” gap
Standard surveys often hit a physical wall: the water is too deep or swift to wade safely, yet too shallow or restricted for our Boston Whaler boat.
At Geomorphic Solutions, we do not leave these ‘in-between’ zones unmapped. We transition our modular single-beam equipment to a stable kayak platform, allowing us to safely survey non-wadeable tributaries without the draft requirements of a Boston Whaler. This ensures continuous data profiles across the entire channel, regardless of access limitations.
